HOLY WEEK 2011


                         HOLY WEEK at St Teresa of the Child Jesus, Rochford.

Hockley Ordinariate Group continues to worship at St Teresa's, thanking Fr Gerry and his people for their hospitality and sponsorship!


Palm Sunday 17th April: We begin the journey with our Lord into the mystery of his passion and Death:
St Teresa's 10.30am Procession, Mass and reading of the Passion Gospel.


3pm Reconciliation: We meet to ask God's forgiveness and make our own sacramental confession before our reception into full communion on Holy Thursday.

Holy Monday Mass  7pm. Ecumenical stations of the Cross 8pm.
Holy Tuesday Mass 9.20am
Holy Wednesday Brentwood Diocesan Chrism Mass 7pm. Brentwood Cathedral

THE GREAT TRIDUUM
Holy Thursday 8pm Mass of the Lord's Supper, washing of feet and ceremonies. Confirmation of Ordinariate candidates. Solemn Watch at the Altar of Repose 'till midnight.






Good Friday 10am Stations of the Cross (especially for families).
12.15pm. Ecumenical Walk of Witness (from The White Hart, Hawkwell to Hockley war Memorial) followed by refreshments at Hockley Methodist Church.
3pm Solemn Liturgy and Holy Communion-St Teresa's.






Holy Saturday 10am Office of Readings and Morning Prayer.
8pm. Easter Vigil (first mass of Easter). followed by bubbly and fireworks.



Easter Day  Surrexit Alleuia! 9am Mass at St Pius X Hockley
10.30am Mass at St Teresa's followed by Easter Egg Hunt for the children.

Welcome to all of the faithful in the Southend Area contemplating joining the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham

Fr Keith Newton , our former Bishop and now Ordinary of The Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham in England & Wales , is along with The Rt Rev Thomas McMahon, Bishop of Brentwood, very excited about the prospect of our shared mission to proclaim the faith once delivered to the Saints  to the people of Essex as part of the Ordinariate! Our Ordinariate group is a lively mix of explorers from churches in the Southend area, Hockley and South Benfleet... it's not a secret!!! We meet on Tuesday evenings 7.30pm at Kilnfield House, Foundry Business Park, Station Approach, Hockley, SS5 4TW where the Parish Priest of the RC parish of Rochford & Hockley is presenting the 'Evangelium,' RCIA course. I'm expecting Paul & Warick, (Spurs fans), so I need to balance things by asking for some Hammers fans to balance the volume in the Vicarage living room?  C'mon you Irons!
