From The BBC Website:

The director of  The National Shrine of Our Lady, Walsingham in Norfolk has been appointed Bishop of Brentwood covering Essex and east London.
Walsingham shrine director Fr Alan Williams, a member of the Society of Mary known as Marist Fathers, was appointed to the post by Pope Francis.
He will be ordained bishop at Brentwood Cathedral on 1 July this year.
Bishop Thomas McMahon, who has retired after 34 years in the post, welcomed Fr Williams as his successor.
Fr Williams said: "I am both surprised and humbled to have been appointed by Pope Francis as the new Bishop of Brentwood. The Diocese of Brentwood embraces many and diverse communities in city and rural locations."
