27th in Ordinary Time
11am Solemn Mass in Thanksgiving for the Harvest
St John Fisher RC Church -home to the Southend Ordinariate Mission
Celebrant: Fr. Lee Bennett

Fr. Jeff writes…
Dear friends,
Wednesday’s Ordination Mass was indeed a splendid and emotional evening for everybody concerned!
A packed church witnessed Michael make his promises to be obedient to our Ordinary as he was ordained Deacon and Bishop Alan presided in a warm and welcoming manner that put all at their ease!
We sang our hearts out and hopefully made many new friends by making them aware of our presence here at St John Fisher. Many thanks to our serving Team, for our dedicated catering team, and to Peter Abbey for the wonderful photographs!

The Eucharistic prayer with the Altar beautifully adorned with our new set of Cross and candlesticks!

Litany of the Saints! Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy! Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us…
Our New Deacon Rev. Michael Halsall with our Ordinary Mgr Newton (left), Alan Bishop of Brentwood and not to mention a very dodgy looking priest M.C.! Below Deacon Michael censing +Alan

Ready to greet the lay faithful after the mass-caption contest-Free bowl of soup for the winner…entries to Fr Jeff by e mail.

We plough the fields and scatter…’

This Sunday, Fr. Lee celebrates the 11am Ordinariate Mass as we offer the liturgy in Thanksgiving for the Harvest. Please do bring your ‘Harvest Gifts’ which will be distributed to our local homeless shelter and food bank. As ever please do pray for the local farming community in what is a tireless never ending work of care and love! The box will remain for the next few weeks for all of us to contribute something?
With my love and prayers.
Hope to see you all at the end of mass...running across from Eastwood Parish,m for a chat and a cuppa!  Fr. Jeff
