Sunday 21st September





The weekend of 20th  & 21st is our national festival and the Hockley Mission is attending the 10.30am Sunday Mass at Warwick Street.  NB: no mass at St Pius on that day!

Next Sunday 28th September the Hockley mission gathers for the 10am Sung Mass at Eastwood, Celebrant & Preacher Monsignor Keith Newton.

The Ordinariate holds its first "Festival" over this weekend. The main proceedings are on Saturday 20 September in Westminster Cathedral Hall, beginning at 10.30am. The guest of honour at the Festival will be His Eminence Vincent Nichols, Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster and Leader of the Catholic Church in England and Wales. Cardinal Nichols will deliver an address on how the Ordinariate fits into the life and mission of the wider Catholic Church in the United Kingdom.

Welcome to all of the faithful in the Southend Area contemplating joining the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham

Fr Keith Newton , our former Bishop and now Ordinary of The Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham in England & Wales , is along with The Rt Rev Thomas McMahon, Bishop of Brentwood, very excited about the prospect of our shared mission to proclaim the faith once delivered to the Saints  to the people of Essex as part of the Ordinariate! Our Ordinariate group is a lively mix of explorers from churches in the Southend area, Hockley and South Benfleet... it's not a secret!!!
